You can say it one more time.
The men are trash movement was started by South African feminists to discuss how the incredible violence queer women face often in practices like "corrective rape".

As a queer woman, to see it reduced to straight r/ships is insulting. https://twitter.com/ozzyetomi/status/1252568730283974658
We can talk about how emotional dynamics iin r/ships ofheterosexual men women need a revamp, without using a movement that was created primarily to address gender based violence.

Heterosexual feminists feed off the intellectual labour of queer women but throw us under the bus.
To give an example, queer Nigerian feminists like myself and @OmogeDami were one of the pioneer voices of the #SayHerNameNigeria movement.

When it came to fighting for the rights of the women who had been raped in Abuja, we saw them as human and as women first.
However, I remember that the same accounts by heterosexual women that praised us in May for fighting for women's rights,
were either silent or outrightly homophobic during the meltdown that ensued after @kikimordi came out as an LGBT ally.
I fight for the rights of heterosexual women in words & actions.
However, I cannot count on them do the same for me.
I cannot count that supposing I got raped today because of my sexuality, they wld come out enmasse protesting like Dami, me and a host of other queer women did.
Let us not even get into some feminists who cannot see that there are other feminist issues that exist outside the setting of a man-woman relationship.
Their feminist success is largely solely dependent on getting rich, marrying a rich man so as to get social capital.
That is why, I am getting uncomfortable with the statement "Money Stops Nonsense", as it relates to rich women and the respect they receive.

Money would only to a degree stop nonsense from men who tolerate you if you give out of it.
What if you never get enough money?
Why should money be the prerequisite for giving women basic human dignities?
What happens to poor queer women?

In Igboland, women are not given land.
But a woman who is rich and well connected can manoevre and get land for herself.
How about the poor women who need to farm?
They are left at the mercy of Igbo men who exploit them and the profits of the land because they are poor and are women.

Money can't stop the nonsense of rape from happening to you.
Money can't stop a black eye from a rich husband.
Money can only do a little for you as a woman.
It is imperative that heterosexual women begin to see men for what they truly are.
What are men?
They are scum. Socially raised to be entitled scum who feed off our emotional/physical labour.

That he is good to you does not mean he is good to other women.
Know it & know peace.
