On Non-COVID news. I would like to share my most recent publication "Measures of Patient Dissatisfaction with Health Care in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Retrospective Analysis" freely available on http://dlvr.it/RVB2kl  @jmirpub One of my coauthors is @aaarmstrongMD !
Aims:

➡️Examine public internet searching behaviors regarding PCOS vs another highly prevalent gynecologic disorder (fibroids)
➡️Explore satisfaction with health care among patients with PCOS and their internet use
➡️Examine medical education in REI during residency
Methods:

➡️Quantification of monthly Google absolute search volumes for search terms related to PCOS and Fibroids (2004-2017)
➡️Survey among PCOS women to explore health care experiences
➡️REI rotation information during residency as a proxy for physician knowledge
Results:

Over time, PCOS has been increasingly searched online compared to Fibroids
Results:

Top 10 Online Questions Related to PCOS on Google from 2004-2017
Survey (759 PCOS women):

➡️57.3% dissatisfied with healthcare
➡️~60% saw >1 doctor before receiving a Dx
➡️60.9% were Dx'd by a general OBGYN
➡️42.4% sought care from a provider other than the one who Dx'd PCOS
➡️98.2% had searched the internet for information about PCOS
Medical education in REI during OBGYN residency

➡️On average, programs provide only 4.2% of total residency block time to REI
➡️5.5% of programs did not list any REI time among their blocks
Conclusion

1⃣⬆️Google searching of PCOS search items above that of another highly prevalent gynecological disorder accompanies growing patient dissatisfaction with PCOS-related healthcare
2⃣Providers would benefit from an improved understanding of PCOS during Ob/Gyn residency
