Due to COVID, this year's draft will be unlike anything we've ever seen before.

Lots of logistical & technological planning from our incredible @Jaguars IT & football technology departments.

Here's a thread to take you behind the scenes on how it'll work for JAX:
First off, as you read the remainder of the thread, please note that during all installation & testing, @Jaguars personnel observed proper social distancing and safety protocols, per the CDC.

The safety of everyone involved was top of mind throughout the entire process.
During the draft, @Jaguars scouts & coaches will utilize various lines of communication, including multiple @MicrosoftTeams calls, a Teams chat, WebEx call w/ NFL, RingCentral hard phone line and standard cell phone & FaceTime calls.

Scouts & coaches, who are connected remotely to the servers at @TIAABankField via virtual private network (VPN), will also have the ability to pull up game footage of 2020 NFL Draft prospects from their respective locations using XOS software.
Every @Jaguars scout and coach has their own unique setup based on the layout of their home office. Below is a basic template for one of our area scouts.

@surface will be clutch for draft weekend!
At GM Dave Caldwell's house in Ponte Vedra Beach:

1 laptop, 3 @surface tablets, 2 65-inch TV monitors, 1 projector screen, 3 external speakerphones (2 mobile, 1 hard line), 2 @Bose headsets, 1 iPad, 1 light kit, 1 UPS for all essential equipment, 1 backup generator.
At HC Doug Marrone's house in San Marco:

1 laptop, 4 @surface tablets, 3 monitors/TVs, 3 external speakerphones (2 mobile, 1 hard line), 2 @Bose headsets, 1 iPad, 1 light kit, 1 UPS for all essential equipment, 1 backup generator.
For background, a UPS is an Uninterruptible Power Supply. Both houses are equipped w/ battery backup systems & emergency generators.

The light kit in Coach's photo above is the camera fixture provided by the NFL for broadcast coverage on draft night.

Here is pre-install:
@Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell & HC Doug Marrone will both utilize primary internet connections, but as a backup, secondary internet and LTE connections have also been installed. All three are integrated into one endpoint device.
