1. I'm going to preface this with the anecdote that, in 2009, a trans woman from the UK moved to New Zealand. In 2017 she was granted residency there, becaue it would be unfair for her to move back to the UK due to how frequent transphobic and LGBTQ+ hate crimes are here.
