Cumali Koçovali ➰ 10 of my favourite scenes
"Ben bu hayatta hiçbir şeyden korkmam ki. Bi insan niye korkar? Korkunca ne yapar? Kaçar mi? Saklanır mi? Akkiz. Bana korkmaya öğretme kızım. İstemem. Bak eğer bi kalbim varsa, böyle senin avuçlarının içinde dursun. Sen bana babandan kalan tek hatırasın. Bana kiyma olur mu?"
"Sonra Emmi'yi göndermiş. Dedi ki baban diyo ki bir daha bununla uğraşmam ne hale varsa görsün."

"Bize bi hayal gösterdiler, öyle evlilikte, aileyikte, mutlulukta falan. Sonra o hayalden uyandırdılar, iyi de yaptılar."

"Ben bu hayatta bir tek babamdan korktum."
The first time he was the prey and not the other way around he appeared vulnerable in front of an enemy. The way he bowed his head in front of the door and looked back down the stairs in knowledge of he was about to sacrifice himself, his integrity, his loyalty to protect+
+who caused the greatest happiness of his life. Little did he know what was waiting for him.
One of those rare moments we were allowed to go deeper and explore him a bit. The fact he went to freaking Idris just to tell him he'd finally accomplished something that would please him. The moment we all realised actually how much Cumali craved his father's approval, too.
No matter how terrible of a father I was he always showed a way to Cumali let life be black or white. As he said to Yildiz, he's always done what he saw from his father. Not only could he not protect I but also he lost the person upon whom he built his world which now collapsed.
"It means not everything is black and white. It means in this god forsaken Çukur, we have grey areas, too. So maybe this poor man deserves to be happy as well."

It's not that Cumali never wanted kids. He wanted but gave up on this dream because of his childhood experiences💔
Whenever i rewatch this scene, i remember him telling Yamaç

"Then my father came. He said, look Cumali, stay calm, stay smart, sit for two years then come. Get to Çukur's head, i will give Çukur to you."

And 11 years later, he returned to a place unfamiliar to him.
In the moments darkness takes over he's the most menacing. The rise of the angel of death.
He's not afraid to own the dirtiest things he's done. He perfectly knows who or what he is and i think it scares even him sometimes.
Of course, we can't leave this masterpiece out. Some charismatic walk, the kiss of the muska, the confidence. Majestic👑
