In honor of #EarthDay here’s a thread of some of my favorite random animal facts❤️🌎

Male seahorses are the ones that get pregnant, carry the eggs & give birth.

Seahorses are the slowest fish in the world. They prefer to swim in pairs with their tails linked together.
The skin of a panda is black under its black fur & pink under its white fur. Also, they have to eat up to 100 pounds of bamboo in one day to get enough nutrients.

Zebras are black with white stripes (not white with black stripes). No two zebras patterns are alike.

Sea otters hold hands when they sleep so they don’t float away from each other.

They are one of the few mammal species on Earth to use a tool to hunt & feed.

They have the densest fur of any animal on Earth (they don't have blubber to keep warm).

An octopus has more brain cells than a human. They have three hearts and no bones. Most of their neurons are in their arms - they can smell and taste with their arms. Their arms can bypass their brain to process information, meaning their arms have minds of their own.

Elephant moms are pregnant almost 2 years for every baby! When born, elephants weigh 250 lbs. Elephant tusks never stop growing, enormous tusks are a sign of old age.

Nature is magnificent beyond our wildest imagination. Let’s try out best to take care of it❤️

Happy #EarthDay
