Books perfect for children in Year 4; either as class books or books to read as a one off at the end of a day... Give me your best! #readingrocks #readingforpleasure #PrimaryRocks #edutwitter
I'll start with "Leon and The Place Between" - stunning vocabulary and beautiful illustrations perfect for a creative writing task!
This was recommended to me earlier in the year, such a beautiful story! Not too long either, some class books never quite get finished in my class 🤦🏽‍♂️
We read this as part of our digestive system topic (loose link I know) and although it's a simple story, the kids loved it. Who doesn't love about about poo? đź’© Even better creative writing task, the up-levelling was so good!
Adore this book for poetry or just for fun at the end of a day! Classic fairy tales and stories with twists you just don't see coming đź‘€
Teaching Vikings and Anglo-Saxons? This is perfect for a Fiction text, following the wonderful adventure of Sigurd. Still some BBC clips around too if you want to end with the film ⚔️
I'm kinda cheating with this one as it's ideal for any year group, but I love using it in Forest School with my Year 4s 🌲 Great task opener, before they explore the space, find a stick of their own and use their imagination as to what the stick might be instead...
