And last but not least...

Luke Barnes-Senior Spotlight

Luke is an 8 year member of our program, a featured soloist and dancer and a FIVE cast member of our outstanding musicals.
A note from the director-Luke is a born performer and the middle child of other born performers. I can remember telling Luke early on in high school that the role of Trey Barnes had already been cast and it’s time for him to play the role of Luke Barnes.
One day when Luke was in fifth grade, his parents needed to get him a ride to school.
I can remember picking him up in his driveway, he jumped in my car and sat in the front seat with his backpack on, hands in his lap, with the seatbelt over top of him and smiled like the Cheshire Cat and stared straight ahead all the way.
I don’t know if he thought he was the cool kid or the nerdy kid driving with his choir teacher but I always leaned toward the cool kid scenario.
Over the years I always thought Luke was a easy-going, follow the crowd kind of kid but there was one incident this year where I saw him get fiercely protective of a fellow classmate and I was so proud of him. Please keep performing!
A note from Mom and Dad- As parents, it is a blessing to watch your child thrive. Every time the curtain opened, Luke would light up the stage.
Luke has always been the “forgotten” child. He lived in the shadow of two amazing brothers and an amazing little sister.
He was quiet and did not mind being alone. Show choir and musicals have been a place where he could find himself and begin to realize how amazing HE is! He has made bonds that will be lifelong.
He is confident and ready to face his future at Bowling Green State University as a business major.
Thank you Mrs. Mahaney for pouring into Luke. Thank you for your patience with him! Thank you to all the members who are amazing! Love you all! Thank you to the parents who have given so much to make this an amazing journey. Thank you Luke for always entertaining us! 💜
