Say it with me now, "Karen is NOT a slur"

Karen was created as a nickname for problematic white women who use their racial and class privilege in selfish or harmful ways.

Ways that include calling the cops on Black and Brown people existing in areas "they shouldn't" or protesting because they "need a haircut" thus endangering lives of the immunocompromised.

There's always backlash from the "dominant groups" when the "non-dominant groups" call them out on their behavior. The same people who think TERF is a slur (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist) are the same people who think "Karen" is equivalent to racism/sexism.

You have to, HAVE TO consider the structural impact of how our society works and realize that "non-dominant groups" create humor to satirize situations because sometimes that's all we have.

And I swear, if a Karen* rolls in here with "actually my feelings are hurt because I have the right to be terrible"... you're going to catch a block. I'm not playing with this today. People are dying and you're mad that there's a meme to deal w/ your nonsense? Nah.

*Kind humans actually named Karen are safe and I'm sorry your name has been chosen. Just because your named Karen, doesn't make you "a Karen". I hope you treat yourself to something nice and are staying hydrated.
