This wasp stayed still enough that I didn't need to pop her in fridge to calm down to let me to ID her. She's another German Wasp, Vespula germanica. Not same one as yesterday as she's different facial markings.

Another capture netted in Manse garden was a Honeybee, Apis mellifera. I didn't have any issue with ID once I spotted pollen baskets on rear legs. In UK it's only bumblebees & our one species of Honeybee that has pollen baskets.

Beautiful Red-Tailed Bumblebee queen netted in Manse garden today. She stayed in my hand long enough for a photo before heading off to look for a nest site.

Was a busy day in the Manse garden. I recorded my first Chocolate Mining Bee, Andrena scotica. This is a female. Males are slightly smaller and slimmer.

Final catch of the day was this famale Red Mason Bee, Osmia bicornis, who I netted next to workshop. Think she was checking it out as a suitable site to lay eggs.
