It’s not that such experts don’t have their own public platforms—they do, through universities, mainstream media, public health organizations, & so on. Rather, the fans who follow & are influenced by Novak are not as likely to seek them out independently. That’s a problem.

Information literacy, especially now, is a much-needed skill. And, as recent political developments in the US & elsewhere have put on vivid display, it is something that is in too-short supply. Critical thinking isn’t necessarily an intuitive thing—it actually takes practice.
