It's time for another #CyberSecurity đŸ’»đŸ”’thread! This one is about social engineering and I'm using content from Phish Insight.

I'm sure you know about phishing by now but do you know about other methods used to try to get you to divulge personal or confidential information?
There are many different types of social engineering which is what you call this type of manipulation. I bet you have all experienced vishing and SMiShing too. What about dumpster diving, pretexting, or baiting?
Let's look at three examples of social engineering. In the first one, 3 out of 4 employees actually opened the attachment and infected their computers. They weren't careful enough in checking that it came from a trusted source.
In this second example, too much information about the company was provided in the job description.
In this final example, the targeted 🐋 had too much personal information on his social media sites.

That's it! Stay safe everyone - in person and online. 😊
