There's something I'd like to see if anybody wants. If someone you know has died as a result of #COVID19, would you like me to write their name on a sticker (about name tag size) and put it up around my city as a very small public memorial?
Depending on your wishes, I could send you a picture of the sticker in place, and (again with permission) I would also maybe make a separate account to share them. You'd need to trust me with the form of the name you want placed & that I'd only put it online w/your permission.
It could be a nickname, initials, anything. Their life can have taken place anywhere, they don't need to have lived in my city, but I would like to transform our streets into a memorial. I'm thinking of roadside/curbside shrines, the Vietnam War memorial & the NAMES quilt.
My hope is that people for whom this would feel right for them and their grief will tell me so. I'd also be pleased if people who aren't me wanted to do something similar where they are.
Please share the beginning of this thread if you would like. I'm not going to hammer it too hard (because again, I only want to do this if people want it done) but I may bump it up a couple more times for more people to see.
