/7. I've been discussing Marxism as a heretical offshoot of Xianity, which has become a false religion for millions. But it is having a big influence on the church today. M. is taught in many universities & is pt of a web of similar ideologies that are difficult to disentangle.
/7. Postmodernism, critical theory, critical race theory, anarchism, anti-fascism, radical feminism, radical environmentalism, grievance studies (incl. gender studies, cultural studies, etc.) - all these things intertwine & interpenetrate each other.
/7. They can be confusing b/c if you accuse someone of being a Marxist, s/he quickly pulls out a book of confusing definitions & argues like a lawyer trying to get a client off on a technicality. So it is useful to identify some features all the above groups have in common.
/7. These ideologies/groups all see human liberation as the highest goal. From what? Well, everything incl. nature. The evils of the world stem fr the Patriarchy, Capitalism, Whiteness - diff. names for what the 60's radicals called "The Establishment." Another name is "Reality"
/7. They think the existing socio-pol. order, which is rooted in nature, should be subverted & overthrown in the name of Lib. Whatever emerges from the rubble is bound to be better. Why would it necessarily be better you ask? Because then diff. people would be in charge - them.
/7. In a sense, this is all we need to know. Marxism & related movements are all Utopian, revolutionary & romantic. They constitute a threat to the social order. Behind the rhetoric abt. human rights is a raw lust for power. Power is all they really believe in & they worship it.
/7. We are dealing with a rel. of "power worshipers." Power is their God. They do not believe in truth, beauty or goodness: they say that all talk of such things is just a mask worn by those in power. These pagans are absolutely opposed to the Bib. God; the ch. must resist them.
