I believe that the saturation of specific visualization types (line chart & choropleth) are directly related to their simplicity in implementing. Existing libraries are difficult to use, but even harder to understand some of these options @wgeary illustrates in this thread
Overall, it's clear we need better educational understanding of responsible data visualization (such as the attached thread). Perception and comprehension of *what data is telling us* can be tremendously misrepresented by the wrong visualization. #DataVisualization
