Please stop saying Dan Patrick and right-wing extremists are pro-life. They are not. Period. They only care abt controlling women’s reproductive choices. Being pro-life means caring abt actual life, not just whether a zygote is carried to a viable pregnancy and birth. 1)

Being pro-life means caring abt kids being taught comprehensive sex education. Being pro-life means supporting public education that serves ALL children. Being pro-life means women have access to birth control and affordable child care 2)

Being pro-life means ppl have health insurance and medical care that doesn’t bankrupt them. Being pro-life means ppl earn a living wage and make enough to feed their kids...even if they’re the janitor, the line cook, or the vegetable harvester. 3)

Being pro-life means putting human beings (especially children) in cages isn’t acceptable. Being pro-life means mental health is a top priority. Being pro-life means you are aghast that men of color disproportionately live their lives in for-profit prisons. 4)

Being pro-life means you care that black women experience an out of proportion maternal mortality rate. Being pro-life means refugees are valued. 5)

Being pro-life means caring abt seniors in nursing homes and quality, affordable care as they exit this life. Being pro-life means you care that high school graduates can access higher education w/out incurring mountains of debt. 6)

Being pro-life means you believe in science! It means you believe vaccines work. Being pro-life means you listen to the medical community in a pandemic. It means you value ppl over corporations and profits! 7)

Being pro-life means you care about a woman and her baby’s outcome-beyond the baby being delivered. It means you care that they both have a future that isn’t laden with struggle and poverty. 8)

Being pro-life is expansive. It means caring abt a whole life-the quality of life for each & every person-not just whether a woman is forced to bring a pregnancy to term. So please, especially the Christian community, stop saying ppl like Dan Patrick are pro-life. They aren’t. 9)
