Let's talk about this BANANAS story in Nebraska, where the state's Republican Party just used atheism to smear *one of their own candidates.*

Strap in. This is crazy.

District 1 is represented by Sen. Julie Slama, who has the backing of the current governor.

She's being challenged by another conservative, Janet Palmtag.

There's a good chance both will get through the (non-partisan) primary next month and fight for the seat in November.

The GOP doesn't want a conservative challenger to a safe seat. But how do they attack Palmtag, since they all have similar positions?

Solution! She once agreed with a liberal senator that a state prison head should NOT have received a raise, bringing his salary to $250,000.

That liberal senator also "sued" God in 2007 to make a point about frivolous lawsuits.

Bingo! The GOP released this mailer.

Next to him is a picture of Palmtag saying “I’VE GOT TO AGREE WITH ERNIE ON THIS.”

Totally unrelated. Totally dishonest. Par for the course for the GOP.
