also: think about how chanel won the starring role meant for a desi woman but recognized that gita was best suited for the part and convinced vik’s uncle to cast her instead. hollywood casting directors, take notes!

i like that they didn’t just use india as a backdrop to fit a certain aesthetic. they actually showcased meaningful desi characters with depth and dimension.
