The universe, as far as we can tell, has almost NO people in it. Let me put it in perspective. The closest inhabitable planet orbits Proxima Centauri. With current technology it would take 6,300 years to get there. Even then it’s unlikely you would find a person like yourself.
Now, I’m not arrogant enough to assume that we are the only intelligent life in existence, but while we may not be “alone” in the cosmos, we most certainly are an unimaginable kind of “lonely”.
In light of this fact, I think the word “miracle” is a good word to describe a person. It’s a great word to describe yourself and every precious rare human life that you will ever come in to contact with.
It’s also a glorious word to describe our little blue speck of dust that God has given us in the near-infinite brutal wasteland of black night that surrounds us.
I’m truly grateful to my Maker for the odd and rare chance to actrually exist. I’m also grateful for our little garden in the void that he has given us to live and love upon. #EarthDay2020
