Here's a thread for you about my journey to work professionally as a master's level epidemiologist.
If you don't like threads, the punch line is that I've been doing this, successfully, for 18 years and I have no plans to go back to school for a PhD. #BowlesTwitterTakeover /1
I did my masters at @uwsph straight out of undergrad. I loved the idea of epidemiology and the courses, but after a year, I was burnt out of school. I knew I did not want to continue. /2
And even though I loved the idea of epidemiology, did I love it enough to get a PhD? I was honestly torn. I didn't want to spend the time and money on something I wasn't 100% committed to. /3
Side note - this thread is NOT meant to discourage anyone from getting a PhD. It is hard work and I have the utmost respect and admiration for what you are doing. I see you. I see how tough it is for you, especially in this environment. KEEP GOING!!!! /4
