YES. Leguizamo absolutely nailed his performance as Tybalt, he had incredible mastery of the language! It's not the interpretation of Tybalt I favor* but it's a damn near flawless performance.

*can and have written papers on this character lmao do NOT get me starttttteeedddd https://twitter.com/negaversace/status/1252817703477239820
Tbh I have a LOT of feelings about how Leguizamo's career has gone down overall b/c he should absolutely be an icon & a star of his generation & he isn't & something f*ckin' stinks*

He *always* knows what kind of film he's in & performs . . .

*that something is the white gaze
. . . & performs accordingly. That is INCREDIBLY hard to do. And yet he's almost never had the leading opportunities that the (mostly white) folks he's been on film with have gotten. He is shockingly good in Moulin Rogue, for example, & I love Nicole & adore me some Ewan yet. . .
NOT TO MENTION my man's stage career. He's versatile af with his roots in stand up & a long string of nuanced dramatic performances & as we all know from the start of this thread, he nails the Bard too. He's got more range than at least 2/3 of ya'll's faves & 1/2 the fame.
So I need SOMEONE to explain to me what, other than his race & ethnicity intersecting with his age, has kept him from leading man status, award season, & those real big ass checks? B/c from where I'm sitting, I see a Colombian man in his 50s who refused to just play the clown.
