okay it’s 4:30 i’m gonna try to get on my roof and see the lyrids, lets hope i don’t get 1) caught by my parents, 2) mistaken for someone breaking in, or 3) eaten alive by rats because i’m sure they’re up there
it’s entirely possible i won’t see anything cause i live in an urban area and i’m cutting it close to when the early birds start waking up but i wanna at least try

okay i made it up and hopefully i wasn’t too loud, it’s gonna be scary as fuck getting down but the sky looks so pretty
k the sun is coming up for real so i’m gonna head down and hopefully don’t break my neck, once i’m back in bed i’ll tell the 3 people reading this what i saw
okay SO i kind of played myself because lyra was almost directly overhead so my neck hurts like a bitch, i thiiink i saw a faint one (and one that i started at for two minutes like “wow this one is so bright and long lasting!!” before realizing it was just vega)
and i definitely saw two out of the corner of my eye but i couldn’t turn my head fast enough to look for real :( and once i started paying attention for real i didn’t see any more at all, which is statistically improbable, so i’m concluding that lyra hates me personally
but i did have a really nice view of jupiter, saturn, mars, and scorpius, which made me happy :) if i did this again i think i’d just go out like an hour earlier to have more time before the sky gets too light to see anything
also on the trip down i once again underestimated how high the jump down would look, and my cat was sitting in the grass like “
