Look what we found in District Sargodha:
Dengue Larvae

Even though everyone is preoccupied with Covid-19/Coronavirus, we’re constantly on the lookout for dengue as well.

Read this thread to know a few important things...
Problem:
Killing a dengue mosquito is tough (fumigation causes humans to get sick as well!)

Hope:
We can prevent dengue by killing the eggs/larvae (baby dengue)

Challenge: Every dengue mosquito can lay 1000 eggs a month!

Solution: Prevent clean water gathering anywhere
The govt (esp the district administration and health dept) is trying its best to identify and eliminate dengue larvae.

We are conducting raids, registering FIRs and serving notices to sites w/dengue mosquitos/larvae

DC Sargodha has a meeting EVERY DAY to check progress
For example: 5053 “hotspots” are checked EVERY WEEK incl graveyards, godowns, empty buildings...

5053.
Only in Sargodha District!

...and we are now speeding up door-to-door sweep operations covering EVERY part of our district!
But of course, we can’t do it alone

EVERY CITIZEN has to play their part!

Learn to identify dengue larvae and ensure that there is no clean, stagnant water in your vicinity (home/work)

Dengue larvae looks like this:
Thin, threadlike and very VERY fast, rising to the surface!
Look around! If you find dengue larvae:

1. Drain the water
2. Call the helpline 0800-99000

Don’t let water gather esp in coolers, pots, uncovered water tanks!

If you can’t empty the water, add a bit of motor oil (it covers the surface and traps dengue)
