In writing a short memory of reporting in Baghdad 2003-2006 for @cjr, I came across a few personal snapshots from that period which I had forgotten.

These images offer a glimpse of life inside the Hamra hotel when we weren't working. https://twitter.com/CJR/status/1252691575798456321
The Hamra topiary planted to offset the dreary blast walls.
A pool party when those were still a thing.
Our Baghdad wedding party, held in the Hamra restaurant.
Home-cooked dinner in our Hamra suite after filing for the day.
Boston Globe colleagues ready to go out reporting.
The original Hamra furniture, before we replaced it with a yellow pleather sofa set.

These are just a fraction of the personal snaps I unearthed while working from home. Usually I'm looking at images from our reporting out in the world. I had not really focused on the domestic life at the Hamra that undergirded our work as reporters.
