1/Let's spend a few moments reflecting on all the things the our POTUS could be doing now, but isn't. Let's go global first:

Convening G7/G20/NATO to lead coordinated global effort to combat the virus, develop vaccine, set travel rules, mitigate damage to developing world.
2/Convening global economic institutions to ensure COVID doesn't do lasting economic harm to the world, discuss how global trades flows can resume, how we rebuild.....

All he's done so far is weaken global institutions like WHO/WTO, work w/MBS, Putin to prop up oil prices.
3/Domestically, the US still has no national response to combat the virus. We have no national:

Testing/tracing/isolation regime
Strategy to fix supply chain issues
Social distancing/masking
Rules abt travel
Immunity certification process
Plan for what to do w/kids this summer
4/There is no justification for the President's lack of leadership in creating both a global and domestic plan to tame the virus. As the "leader of the free world" his absence has become crippling, here and abroad.

He has time for TV but not for fighting the virus.
5/The President has enthusiastically run towards to our coordinated federal response to the economic challenges of COVID but has run from establishing an equivalent approach towards taming the virus itself. Contrast of effort, engagement, stark.
6/Idea that the states should lead on responding to COVID is just insane, sorry. We aren't asking them to go it alone on the econ side, nor would US ask them to repeal foreign invaders, police the borders, combat cyber attacks, respond to extreme weather, beat Cancer alone.
