As someone who played Crisis Core as the only FF7 game to the end prior to playing FF7R, the perspective getting into Remake and treating it as if it's a Crisis Core follow up instead of being the reimagined FF7 surprisingly works out. (1/?)
It works too with OG but with how Remake incorporated the prequel stuff, things just feel more connected as minor as things are. If you go with just Crisis Core before going to Remake instead of OGFF7 as far newcomer stuff goes... (2/?)
You get JUST enough necessary context without knowing too much future events that makes people anxious about possible changes. Really it's too bad Crisis Core doesn't get an HD remaster port anytime soon because the prequel games in Compilation are still capable... (3/?)
... of existing within the Remake canon. Heck, maybe 7R's ending can justify retconning just the right necessary thing to allow for a Crisis Core Remake. After all, the G stands for Gillian. (4/4)
