Continuing my argument that the BEST way to define the Left vs the Right is based on fundamental human nature:

The Left sees the world in, and tries to impose, a Rule/Be Ruled paradigm; the Right neither wants to rule nor be ruled, largely self-governs, wants to be left alone.
The additional ways to understand and consistently identify the Left all proceed from that starting point.
The Left also sees Rights as conditional, assigned by your identity group, and enforced by a large, powerful, centralized government.
The Right, in contrast, sees Rights as universal and inalienable. You have those rights whether the government recognizes it or not.
Those Rights *can* be violated. And, unfortunately are. Especially now.
But most people see it as an injustice and an outrage.
But we *are* upset because we recognize those universal and inalienable rights.
So this view of mine is Descriptive, in that it explains what you see, things that don't make sense otherwise.

One of the best examples of this is how the Left, which talks a good game about women's rights and gay rights, never objects to Islam being quite brutal to both.
The explanation is simple: Islam is a Leftist ideology.

They may disagree on how women and gays should be treated, but they agree on the fundamental principle that *everything* is political, and the government prohibits or requires most of what you do/say/think.
But the reason I keep pushing this paradigm of the Left vs the Right is it is also Prescriptive and/or Proscriptive.

By clearly identifying the Right from the Left, you can be more aware of when your own thoughts start drifting Leftward, and stop it.
And/or you can tell when someone ostensibly on the Right is actually espousing Leftist views.

I admired George W Bush for his love for the US military. But time (and this paradigm) has shown that his family all share the neo-Nobility views of the Left.
And with that looooooooooong intro, now we get to the point of this thread:

"Frankly, I think we should make people take an IQ test to be able to vote"

I've heard this at times from people on the Right.

This is a Leftist thought.
I heard someone say the other day that they think Geometrically.

I have no idea what that means, but what I *think* it means is you can't just say "These two angles are equal." You have to prove it by starting with a known truth and reasoning via axioms and theorems.
That's how I try to think, especially politically.

So if you start from the notion that ALL PEOPLE are born equal, that we ALL have equal, inalienable rights, then you have to agree we ALL have the right to provide input to our government, i.e., vote.
