I consider myself a stand up person. I dont compromise my values and even while Im as flawed as anyone my intent is always to walk in line with what’s right. Regardless of my personal opinions about the character in regards to some people, if I catch an error Ive made I’ll own it

With that said, I’ve concluded that I made an error in regards to Rick Bastuba and so I wanted to retract what I said and genuinely apologize. I am not in any way backtracking on my personal opinion about the exploitive behavior he has displayed in regards to Aaron Carters phone.

However, when I 1st encountered Rick on twitter I brought up a situation I had experienced years ago with the original purchaser of the storage unit the phone was found in. My understanding in the convo was he was the original purchaser so I called him out.

Without getting into too much detail I was tasked with trying to retrieve personal family photos for the carters that was in the unit as they’d have no real value as resale. These pics consisted of the carter baby photos, childhood pics of Leslie, grandparents etc

The person tried to extort $15,000 from Aaron to get these pics back. We offered to exchange the pics for memorabilia that could be sold and he lowered the price to $13,000. We couldn’t do it. I then proposed he just let return the photos of Leslie. And he refused.

The phone was mentioned back then however we didn’t realize the severity of what it contained so paid it no mind. Just focused on priceless family photos. I ended up reporting the guy cuz the photos contained nude photos of nick as a child. And so he atleast couldn’t sell them.

The guy was vile and callous, and he ended up still selling these photos with no care in the world. So when Rick shows up on social media recently all this stuff resurfaces and I called him out on that exchange with the info I had at the time.

I learned a bit ago that Rick was in fact NOT to original buyer of the storage unit and not the person we battled with who wound up selling nude childhood photos of nick carter. So I would like to acknowledge that and apologize with sincerity and admit I unintentionally misspoke.

While I am adamant that I did not fabricate this situation and that an awful extortion was attempted, I do acknowledge today that Rick Bastuba was not the original buyer and had no part in that fiasco. He’s blocked me, but I’m sure this will find it’s way.

I am in no way supporting his actions, and I’m not going to say that he is in the right or anything like that because I am firm on my opinion however, wrong is wrong and I wanted to make sure I expressed that and own my faults with a clear conscience. So Rick, I apologize.
