Leicestershire head coach Paul Nixon says the club have gone from "detention to teachers pet in a few months" with the ECB, having got their finances in order "just in time".

He's been speaking to the BBC about the club's current challenges, with players currently furloughed.
Nixon suggests the smaller size of @leicsccc's operation may be in their favour right now:

"The clubs who are paying hundreds of staff because of their big corporate facilities have no income coming in. You have to feel for those guys, usually it’s us they’re feeling for."
Nixon says the board have been "very supportive, and no players at the club have taken a pay cut.

He said: "That’s very refreshing because there are a lot of counties in trouble."
It might be "tough" to get red ball cricket in this summer, Nixon says, with the focus on the white ball formats.

"Most counties make their money from white ball cricket. It’s more accessible, played at weekends and in the evening. We have to accept more of it will be played."
Nixon says he cannot communicate with players, but has has conversations with players about future contracts.

"We had 13 players out of contract, which was worrying for them during this period, but we’ve spoken to everybody, so we are feeling positive moving forward."
Nixon: "The players have set themselves up with fitness sessions, that has nothing to do with us. Players have got to do their own things, be inventive, keep driving things forward and keep enthusiasm away from playing."
