THREAD:

1. There's a lot of pain in this country right now, but unless the topic is body counts, you wouldn't know if from our lying media.
2. Where are all the "pain stories" the media is so fond of?

Where's the story about the mom who was laid off from her minimum-wage job, has zero savings, and can't get food for her kids because the unemployment check hasn't arrived yet?
3. Where's the story about the man who scrimped and saved to fulfill his dream of opening a restaurant, only to have it forcibly closed, and now he'll never re-open, even with the government handouts?
4. Where's the story about the family business going under after 150 years?

Where's the story about the man who is in agony because before the lockdown he was awaiting hip replacement surgery, but now can't have it because his power-hungry governor banned the procedure?
5. Where's the story about the autism group home that can't buy arts & crafts supplies because their power-hungry governor banned it, and now the clients, who aren't allowed to go outside and don't understand why, can't paint or craft, and are starting to get violent?
6. Where's the story about the elderly couple on a fixed income whose kitchen is tore apart for a renovation that can't be finished because their power-hungry governor won't allow it, and now the couple, who don't have a ton of money, have to live without a kitchen and order out?
7. The lying media simply doesn't seem interested in telling the stories of how these lockdowns have RUINED LIVES.

No, what we're getting from these dishonest pieces of shit are "feel-good" stories about how we're all getting along as we obey our masters.
8. "And now, an inspiring story from New Jersey, where Mrs. Ophelia Johnson is making sure her elderly neighbor has plenty of KY jelly every Tuesday night, when her beau comes calling."

"Americans are coming together under these unconstitutional measures. Ain't it great?"
9. There are literally millions of hardship stories out there. This lockdown has RUINED LIVES.

At the very time when we need a media to tell us what's happening, these mother-fuckers have sank to an all-time new low of spin and DNC water-carrying.
10. After Kavanaugh, I didn't think the media could get any lower.

I was wrong.
11. After Covington, I didn't think the media could get any lower.

I was wrong.
12. And here we are again. Can the media sink any lower than this? Can it get any worse than:

* Sneering at any suggestion we open up our economy?
* Ignoring blatantly unconstitutional orders?
* Ignoring the real pain Americans are suffering?
* Attacking any mention of hydroxy?
13. My mom always stressed to remember the Serenity Prayer:

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
14. I've never been more fucking disgusted with my industry, the media, as I am right now. As a whole, I'd have to say we are traitors. That's a powerful statement, but in my bones I know it's true. We lie, at a time when Americans badly need the truth. TRAITORS.

But...
15. I can't do anything about that. What I CAN do is make sure the stories on MY beat get covered (and they have been). I'm only one reporter -- but I am a reporter, and, goddamnit, I don't care if this entire industry crumbles around me …
16. … I'm gonna keep doing the job the right way; the honorable way. I'm going to tell the stories that need to be told -- even if they make a Dem look bad.

And there are many others locally who are right there with me.

As for the rest of the lying media?

Fuck 'em.
