1/20 It’s been a year since I started Noob Heavy and I couldn’t have asked for a better start. I was off grid prior, so it has been life changing. I’ve had a lot of cool opportunities and worked with awesome people. Here’s a thread with highlights, lowlights and special mentions

3/20 I started PR in November when @AbyssAeons offered my first job. I’ll always be thankful to them for that push which has now led me down a career path I’m very happy to be doing. I’ve since worked with bands like @eternalrestband @WhiteCrone L’homme Absurde, Scissorfight+more
4/20 Interviews! It starts with reviews but the interaction became so much more intense over the year. My first ever interview was a failure, it was via email with Mike Browning from Nocturnus. Ghosted me because I asked a double question after being instructed not to. Lol.

8/20 I first got pushed into the realm of phone interviews with a transcription when I interviewed Brendan Auld from Snorlax and Descent. 9/20 I’ve since done a few phoners. Including Trevor from BDM and Jonas from Katatonia. Two amazing opportunities. I’d love to just keep interviewing titans of metal. 10/20 Reviews… I experimented with a lot of formats and listened to a lot of albums. So did my team. I found some of my favorite albums through their reviews. Here’s a handful of my favorites.

12/20 That time when I reviewed all three Archivist albums using my own long winded interpretations of theme and lyrics, then the band told me that on their Facebook page is a detailed breakdown of the themes, mine not incl. 16/20 Mass has really in depth reviews. He lives in Iran so has limitations, but also he hears way more Euro stuff than I do. This album is a memorable stand out. 18/20 @AbyssAeons started doing metal history articles on the site which are really cool, love the format. They really give you a sense of the time with a lot of context about the era. So far he’s covered albums from My Dying Bride, Sabbat and Cemetary. https://noobheavy.com/metalredux/
