Just a reminder that Trump was unable to answer the question about who would be legally liable when businesses reopen and American workers start getting coronavirus at work and dying again.

We should not reopen anything until we have that answer.
If businesses are legally liable for their workers dying, they will be cautious.

If governors are legally liable, they will be cautious.

If the federal government is legally liable, they will be cautious.

If no one knows who is legally liable, it is dangerous.
Because what will happen is a family will sue a business, the business will blame the state government, the state government will blame the federal government, and the federal government will blame the businesses. But the families will lose.
I believe this is why the federal task force is issuing strong guidelines for states to adhere to, but is stopping short of imposing these guidelines as rules? If the federal government imposes rules, and businesses still reopen and workers get sick and die, they would be blamed.
Eager to hear from legal folks on these issues.
