Kasi they are dealing with lives.
Since we're on the topic, teachers should also be required to have units of child psychology. Naiinis ako kapag ginagawang fall back degree ang educ. I've heard tons of anecdote where a person shifted to educ kasi "madali lang." YOU'RE GOING TO SHAPE A LOT OF CHILDREN'S VIEWS.
A bit of philosophy wouldn't be bad as well. Nag-teacher tapos walang critical thinking, sobrang juvenile, at hayok sa authority. NASAAN ANG WISDOM JUSKO.
It's insane how our society easily dismiss the essense of the teaching profession. How delicate it is to mold a developing brain of a child. They think sulat-sulat lang ng lesson plan. Terror-terror lang. Not realizing the real impact it leaves on children's psyche.
Honestly, I know teachers here are underpaid. It just goes to show how little our society values one of its supposed pillar and doesn't understand the level of complexity it requires. It also gives the wrong impression that this vocation is easy. The idea of low pay = easy job.
Reading a lot of people saying na crim has units of psychology. YES I GET THAT. Kaya nga sabi ko psychology DEGREE. I-level natin ang standard nila kahit papaano sa mga doctor since they are dealing with lives as well.
