Sharing this in case it helps anyone else. I've not watched TV news for about 9 years, but got drawn back into it by #Covid_19 & it was not doing my mental health any good

I've stopped. Last night as an experiment I had the news on for 20 mins. I'd not missed a thing 1/
I'd picked up all the main headlines & a fair bit of the detail from online sources & twitter during the day, so I'm no less informed.

But - I'm less anxious. There's a difference between reading little snippets of news & processing them in your own space & time

And watching it beamed into your home incessantly in 42" HD colour which demands your constant attention.

So I just wanted to remind you that watching the news is not mandatory, compulsory or even necessary. 3/3
