Sharing this in case it helps anyone else. I& #39;ve not watched TV news for about 9 years, but got drawn back into it by #Covid_19 & it was not doing my mental health any good

I& #39;ve stopped. Last night as an experiment I had the news on for 20 mins. I& #39;d not missed a thing 1/
I& #39;d picked up all the main headlines & a fair bit of the detail from online sources & twitter during the day, so I& #39;m no less informed.

But - I& #39;m less anxious. There& #39;s a difference between reading little snippets of news & processing them in your own space & time

And watching it beamed into your home incessantly in 42" HD colour which demands your constant attention.

So I just wanted to remind you that watching the news is not mandatory, compulsory or even necessary. 3/3
