Today I'm sharing ways you can support some of my favourite small museums which are struggling just now because they rely on income from visitors who aren't able to come. I do appreciate there are MANY MANY other calls on your ££ & compassion, so thanks for helping if you can.
First up, the Florence Nightingale Museum @florencemuseum. Followers may have noticed I like brilliant (& 'bloody difficult') women, & what's going on at the moment just makes me keep thinking of her: from nursing, to the statistics at which she excelled. https://www.florence-nightingale.co.uk
When Jane Austen lived in Bath she walked in the garden of the Holburne Museum @holburne, and I've spent many happy times there, not just in the galleries with the art but also in the lovely cafe. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/help-the-holburne
Dr Jenner's House museum, @DrJennersHouse tells the story of humanity's triumph over disease, and I'd like the home of the 'father of immunology' to still be there for me to re-visit just as soon as I'm allowed to. https://jennermuseum.com/support
Just look at the astonishing beauty of the garden at Charleston @CharlestonTrust in Sussex (where once I had a splendid day filming a sequence about Lady Chatterley's Lover) (with an actor, NOT @CharlestonTrust's gardener). Their fundraiser is here: https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/12497#!/DonationDetails
And finally, last but by no means least, & perhaps closest to my heart of all: @janeaustenhouse, the place where every sentient person's favourite author finished her six novels, 'the most treasured Austen site in the world'. https://janeaustens.house/please-support-our-survival-appeal/ Thank you, dear followers!
