I don't particularly like this scene, but not because it's brutal and harsh on a character who was in the movie for more than 2 minutes, there's a few reasons.

THREAD TIME!!! https://twitter.com/nickusen/status/1252715763816939524
Sure, Eddie and Udesky's deaths were objectively more brutal than this, but for one thing, we actually knew them longer then just 3 scenes to know what their like, plus they were more engaged with the main cast rather then just being the guy's you knew where going to die.
Secondly the Movie holds uncomfortably long on this scene and while there's nothing wrong with building tension the scene is dragged out to the point of almost being comedic.
Looking back at TLW and JP3, the deaths while brutal are short and to the point, i mean imagine the scene where the Rex Family kill Eddie but instead of cutting to the trailer they instead show compy's feeding off of the leftovers from his corpse, it's unnecessary.
There's nothing wrong with showing bystanders getting caught in the crossfire of the dinosaurs, but it should at least be handled with some care, because if you go too overboard your audience won't be feeling the emotions that your intending to pull from them.
Am i saying this scene is bad? Of course not it's one of the best scenes in the movie, and i'm DEFINITELY not saying that the deaths should be toned down just to make audiences feel safer, scene's like this are supposed to make you feel bad for the characters suffering.
What i'm saying is you need to be careful about what your intending to do with a scene, because everybody getting petty about the way character dies, leads to Colin Trevorrow making his character deaths "Deserving" and now we overly cartoony villains to exemplify this fact.
If you like the scene then fine, we're all sadistic in our own tastes, i'm just saying be careful how long you hold on a death scene, cause there's a point where it stops being entertainment and starts becoming torture.
