Recap on what happened yesterday:

- UEFA says leagues can end early in "special cases"
- Dutch PM bans professional football until at least Sept 1
- So Dutch FA says 2019-20 Eredivisie season to be cancelled, to ask UEFA for approval
- Friday call to ratify and discuss options
Luckily for UEFA, there are no Dutch teams left in Europe. If there were, it would raise serious issues. The same goes for Belgium, which will cancel its season in the coming days.

The big five leagues will not end their seasons early until it is totally impractical to do so.
Obviously, for the big five leagues this is largely for financial and contractual reasons.

But the further you go down the pecking order of European leagues, the more the financial pressure swings to cancelling this season to reduce costs.
Outside the big five, these are the leagues still with active teams in the UEL and UCL which UEFA will almost certainly insist domestic seasons most not be curtailed:

Austria
Denmark
Greece
Turkey
Scotland
Switzerland
Ukraine

However...
As we have seen with the Netherlands, there may come a point when governments take the situation out of UEFA's hands by banning football, even behind closed doors, for an extended period.

Once that happens, UEFA will have a huge problem.
Scotland definitely would have cancelled its Premiership season by now if Rangers weren't still in the Europa League, though some other leagues, such as Austria, are back in training.
It will be interesting to watch the direction Portugal and Russia take now, as the other top 10 leagues with no teams left in European competition this season.

Russian clubs, for instance, are reportedly losing $2m a day, and the league is suspended until at least May 31.
On a final note. Don't read much into stories that Arsenal could be playing in the Champions League next season because they have the fourth-best UEFA coefficient of Premier League clubs.

Ideas and suggestions aren't always based in reality.
