I& #39;m not very good with big numbers, but am finding @CitizensAdvice& #39;s data shows such an important -and heart breaking- insight into the problems people are facing. We& #39;re still seeing high demand for areas like UC, employment + benefits but other issues are now emerging too
The number 1 web page every single day this month has been if your employer has told you not to work because of coronavirus and over the same time period our advisors have helped 11,000 people with employment problems
Alongside peaks in views for our advice on getting an advance payment during the 5-week wait for UC, views to our pages on using a food bank have increased, suggesting people may be struggling to cover essentials
With people reliant on online shopping during lock down, we& #39;ve now seen views to our page on ‘if something you ordered hasn’t arrived’ have doubled since late Feb. And our scams pages have been viewed over 27,000 times
since the start of the month
since the start of the month
It also seems that people aren& #39;t too happy with their neighbours - While numbers are still low, since the lockdown began, we’ve seen an increase in views to our advice pages on complaining about your neighbour or if your neighbour complains about you
We& #39;re using this data from our website and from the one-to-one help our advisers give to show decision makers where the pinch points are and make sure people are getting the support that they so desperately need
