College Entrance Tests study tips for Batch 2021!

✨a thread
NOTE: i really don't consider myself as the smartest (i am not always in the list of honors), but not to brag but i passed 6/7 of my CETs: ADMU, DLSU, UST, MAPUA, DOST, PMA, and i just wanna sound credible. UP na lang kulang (take me) and if i can, siyempre ikaw din!
Personally, these are just my personal tips and tricks, and if they don't work for you then do not worry, this is not 100% accurate, it all depends on youuu!
1. MOTIVATE YOURSELF 🥳

I know thinking about the exams and your future college life like "am i gonna pass?" or "what if i don't pass?" kind of questions makes you anxious, but you gotta beat that. Just instill in your mind that you're gonna do your best in every CET you take.
2. MANAGE YOUR TIME WISELY ⌛️

I know it is so hard to organize your daily schedules because CETs are weekends of first 2 months of school and it is such a hassle to do reqs especially with CET preparations. So make an effective set-up where you can accomplish everything.
3. KNOW YOUR WEAKNESSES

I love Math, but i always struggled with Geometry. So you really need to push yourself to love that topic, because if you're gonna keep telling yourself you hate it, you aren't gonna understand it completely and you're not gonna beat that weakness.
4. DO NOT COMPETE WITH OTHERS BUT INSTEAD JOIN THEM! 👯‍♀️

Create study groups, and communicate. They might know something you don't and you might actually know something they don't also. After all, you all have the same goal -- it is to pass your dream unis!!
5. UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT, DO NOT MEMORIZE! 💡

There are a lot of topics (i.e. vocabulary, terms, formulas, theories, personas) that will come out in the exam, and make sure you understand every detail and use of them. Understanding = strong retention of information
6. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! ✏️

I know this is a very hassle thing to do but you need to practice exam taking and timing yourself each question. Let's say you know everything but can you do it with time pressure?(OMG HI ACET) There are a lot of online resources! Download na!!
7. ATTEND REVIEW CLASSES

Review classes are very effective (for me), they are most likely gonna put you in a class setting and you get to learn but in a crash course way. I attended @Mentorsplus and UP Panagsagana, wherein they give pre and post tests +
+ they gave us a giant binder where we compiled all the reviewers given to us, and the reviewers were very informative actually. Highly recommended talaga yung Mentorsplus!! :>

But if you can't afford review classes, a ton of review materials can be found in the internet.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TIP! 📕

Know your grammar rules, and work on your vocabulary. I suggest you list down 5-8 unfamiliar words per day and familiarize yourself with each meaning, and try to use it in sentences.
MATHEMATICS TIP! 📐

I know most of you struggle with Math, and what i can suggest is to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Once you got the concept, every problem will be easy. Know your formulas and shortcuts also! BUT KAILANGAN MO MAGPRACTICE!
SCIENCE TIP! 🔬

There are a lot of concepts and walang technique dito. Just know what to review, and make sure you understand everything. Take time to read topics from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, General Science, and Earth Science.
READING COMPREHENSION TIP!

This part of subtest will most likely to be the last one you'll take because this is where universities are gonna test you if your mind can still function properly even body is so tired na. It is exhausting to solve and answer Math and Sci +
tas bigla ka papabasahin ng pagkahaba-habang mga text? ekis yun bro HAHA

But i suggest you practice reading very fast. And look at the questions first before you read the text, mamaya 3 questions lang pala tas tinatanong lang yung meaning pero binasa mo lahat, edi sayang time.
#1 TEST TIP!

TRIAL AND ERROR METHOD IS LEGIT EFFECTIVE!

Lalo na sa mga Math questions, do not hesitate to use it! Kung kaya naman, wag mo iwaste yung oras mo na isolve yung particular problem. It really saves time and effort pati na rin scratch paper space HAHAHA.
#2 TEST TIP!

THE ELIMINATION METHOD!

Kung alam mong mali na yung isa, icancel out mo na so you have more chances of getting the right answer!
#3 TEST TIP!

GAWIN MO NA ANG MGA KAILANGAN MO GAWIN BAGO PA YUNG EXAM!

sa UPCAT, hindi sila magbibigay ng mga extra time sayo para sa personal necessities mo. Do not drink a lot of water or drinks before the exam kasi under pressure, maiihi ka talaga HAHA.
P.S. STUDY SMART, NOT HARD!

Remember to take care of yourself too. Reward yourself, take breaks if you can! Eat, watch movies, sleep, go out with your friends, drink all night long (charot). But give yourself a reward! You deserve it.
And PRAY PRAY PRAY!

Always tell Him what your plans are and He will surely help you, and if you don't get what you want, maybe He has better plans over you. God will be your guide in everything.

It is very important to pray to God for Him to know what you really desire +
The Lord will know what you want and He has plans. And His plans are always better than yours.

But DO NOT ALWAYS RELY ON GOD. I mean do your part also. Pray to Him and do your part, and then He will also help you!
