QUARANTINE STORIES TO TELL YOUR GRANDKIDS (those idiots will believe anything)

We all were locked up in our houses. I used to sit on the ledge of my balcony for hours. And drink a lot. All alone. Just me and my dog, Preeti.
A lot of events got cancelled. IPL got cancelled. Summer Olympics. Anjali Khanna couldn't even go to the Summer Camp in Shimla. People left cities and went back to their hometowns. Like your aunt Geet, who boarded a train from Ratlam to head to Bhatinda.
Those working in other countries came back to India. Mohan Bhargava used to work at NASA. He came back to his village Charanpur and he set up a hydroelectric power generator.
Sid uncle used to be disorganized and careless. But he started helping out with household chores. He even learnt how break an egg on a pan.
Another friend, Ved, was an engineer. But with all this free time he decided to follow his passion. Escape the boring loop of the corporate world. Tara aunty bhi khush.
We would just sit and recall old times. Back when we could step out of the house. Yaad hai, 2 October ko hum Panjim gaye the? Satsang suna tha? Uske baad movie dekhi. Fir pav bhaji khayi aur fir 3rd October ko waapis.
Once it was over, your Cirkeshwar maamu and I went to a nightclub to celebrate. Met my childhood friend Chinki. But Chinki had changed a lot. We all did actually. This whole quarantine thing had changed all of us.
