My different phases as a rapper.
1. Crew member.

I was part of a rap crew, we called ourselves Dark Lights. There were 2 light skinned niggas and one dark nigga. So that's where the name came from. We were in a boarding school and lord knows we ran the hip-hop scene there!
Wasn't just our music that kept people talking but everything HIP-HOP. That was a closed environment so it was really limiting. Still learned a lot from those niggas.
2. Going solo.

I gotta say its one thing to be in a rap crew and it's another to be a solo artist. Both niggas are still my friends. We eventually went our separate ways and that's when i dropped my first solo track "BackToTheHood" it got over 1k downloads on DataFileHost.
lol a milestone at the time. Even as a crew we couldn't hit those numbers so that really motivated me to keep going.
3. After High School

Music kept me so busy that i never really thought about what i wanted to do after high school. All i know is i ended up registering for Bsc in Molecular and life sciences at the university of Limpopo and i hated it.
4. Typical Rapper Story

You already know where this is going, i dropped out and that's when shit got real. There's no such thing as "drop out allowance" so i had to figure out what to eat. Where to get data to push my tracks! All that.
That's when i dropped a track titled NUMBERS. Even though there's a lot of naivete in that track, I still perform that joint. People love it and it makes me sick sometimes.
5. The hustle Phase!

This is when i got off the net and pushed my music in the real streets. Did a whole lot of live shows, radio interviews and met a lot of great people. Some still got my back. That was my girlfriend at the time.
She was down AF, we even ran other things outside the music but that's a story for another thread. lol
6. My first Body of work.

My first body of work is titled "HustlingInItsRealSenseAintEasy" i took that phrase from a conversation i had with my aunt who's also a hustler. This project was inspired by everything i had been through ever since i started taking music serious.
The launch was amazing. People came in numbers. This EP consists of tracks like Kiss my lips, Adrenaline and Not tryna stay.
I produced all that EP by myself with literally 2 months of experience as a producer. I'm a better musician today but i know i really went hard on that EP. Everything i said in that project came from the heart.
7. Kamasutra

That HustlingInItsRealSense project is so deep that i got healed from a lot of things that bothered me. So my next project wasn't as emotional. Kamasutra is a project based on my fuck boy tendencies. By the way this project is not yet released.
However there's 2 singles out(Kamasutra & thirst Trap ) and I'm dropping the third single in a few days.
8. I'm planning to keep on updating this thread as my hustle gets bigger and bigger. So stay engaged and become a part of a success story.
