I just had the unfortunate displeasure of watching PLANET OF THE HUMANS the #Earthday freebie irresponsibly put out by Michael Moore @MMFlint.

The film is an unsubstantiated, unscientific, poorly made piece of yellow journalism which attacks proven renewable energy and science..
I can't believe that @MMFlint would put his name on this.

The film attacks climate heroes like
@billmckibben and disparages the known benefits of renewable energy.

The film is amateurish and puerile, trades in the most propagandistic techniques, roping the audience into...
believing that somehow renewable energy is a sham and that we shouldn't trust folks that promote solar and wind.

The film irresponsibly ignores the decades of peer-reviewed climate & energy science that goes into the current environmental movement.

I'm shocked. AGHAST.
People should ignore this film and condemn
@MMFlint for putting it out. The film disregards the #GreenNewDeal, the 100% renewable energy plans of Stanford University and others, the @BernieSanders campaign and the basic foundations of science upon which renewable energy policy..
and the power that the #climate movement has built upon for the last 40 years. The film flies in the face of what @mmflint himself has promoted as a part of the @BernieSanders campaign.

The movie is as bad as any of the #misinformation that
@realDonaldTrump has ever wrought.
Please understand, as a first person doc filmmaker, I have looked up to and been influenced by @MMFlint for years.

This is a crushing moment for me, to see him promote something which is so brazenly anti-science, so deeply incorrect, so unvetted, negligent and untrue.
The film has been promoted by many pages like
@People4Bernie, and I am petitioning for them to take it down because it is not worthy of the deep and sincere values that the Bernie campaign and its followers believe in.

I have dedicated my life to a transformation away from...
fossil fuels and the oil industry. This film, if celebrated and shared, could do deep damage to our movement and to our credibility. I encourage people to watch it, see how bad it is, and reject it.

We are a movement of integrity.

Renewable energy WORKS.

Fossil fuels...
will end civilization as we know it. We can't be fooled by cheap sensationalism, even when it is being promoted by the heroes of our past.

And to @MMFlint, I am saddened by this. I am upset and I think you owe the world and the environmental movement a deep apology.
To present this as journalism calls your entire film catalogue into question.

I can't believe that you would release this project without the participation and advisement of actual scientists. I challenge you to a discussion on this film. Please let me show you its flaws.
And to @StephenAtHome - please consider having serious rebuttals of this film on your show to counter the interview you did with @mmflint tonight. I can refer you to many climate scientists and knowledgable renewable energy researchers who can counter this carless sensationalism.
