Tomorrow we’re gonna talk about my favorite hair thing ever @olaplex I fucking love it and you should too
Ok so let’s talk about what olaplex is and is not.... it is NOT A DEEP CONDITIONER! It is a bond multiplier, it does not bring in moisture it restores your disulfide bonds.. now let me tell you why this is important
So hair is made out keratin and bonds....... disulfide bonds and hydrogen bonds. The reason this is important to know is because curly hair has more disulfide bonds than straight hair and olaplex specifically targets disulfide bonds
Basically olaplex works by extending your disulfide bond and bringing it back together this making the hair stronger than it was previously... it 🗣STRENGTHENS YOUR HAIR FROM THE INSIDE
So this means that when you color your hair and use Olapex it will help your hair stay healthy through the process, it will keep your curls intact and healthy..... now let’s talk about what all the steps are, they have steps numbered 1-7 and they all serve a specific purpose
First let’s talk about what ruins your bonds so you can know if olaplex is for you
(hint, it’s for every fucking body!)
Do you go out in the sun?
Do you color your hair?
Do you use Heat on your hair?
Do you Over manipulate your hair texture????
If yes, @olaplex is for you!
So step one and two, I don’t need to dive into this part too much because it’s for professional use only...
🗣🗣BUT ALL MY HAIRSTYLIST FOLLOWERS BETTER BE USING IT!! No.1 can be added to color, lightener or used as a stand alone treatment along with no.2
So if your hairstylist uses olaplex you really gotta keep up the bond maintenance at home. Use no.3 once a week for 20-30min before you shampoo on damp hair and then shampoo and deep condition after
I personally love the shampoo and conditioner for me and many of my clients. We love no.4 & no.5 it’s much more conditioning than you probably think it is, but it isn’t super heavy at all
Number 6 is super versatile I LOVE it mixed with no.7(the oil) as a blowing agent and I also love no.6 as a leave in styling cream that is lightweight but also controls frizz
Did i miss anything???? I tried to keep it simple and straight to the point, i figured y’all didn’t want me talking about bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate and disulfide bonds and sulfur all day lol but I’m here if y’all any Olapex related questions today!
