cw injury + scarring
i realized i shared some shit from my accident but i haven’t posted my healed up scars? behold.

lads we’ve got a plate and 8 screws in the wrist and a screw in the ring finger. also my index finger was peeled like a potato so i grew that skin all back all by myself. i have no feeling in it whatsoever.

my wrist has a permanent inward tilt from the damage/the plate being crooked. when my radius was broken, my ulna popped out of place. my hand was just hanging there. it was gross as hell.

my ring fing broke and no one noticed for six weeks. given the severity of the break and how long it went unfixed and the placement of the screw, my ring finger no longer bends.

also, i’m starting month 4 of occupational therapy next week. i still have a lot of pain. i still have to exercise and stretch my hand/wrist 3x a day in 30 min sets. my accident happened nov 30th.

this thread is partially a vent. but partially a cautionary tale. i got lucky. extremely. i was in a high speed car accident that could’ve easily been fatal. would’ve been if i hadn’t worn a seat belt. so please. wear seat belts.

also!!! just generally be cautious!! a woman ran a stop sign and i am permanently disabled as a result of her mistake. my arm + hand will never be the same. i will have mobility issues for the rest of my life. i am only 25, 24 when the crash happened.
