superheroes actually powers are a lot less important than how popular they are in terms of who's going to be of use in a battle. 1
Batman is objectively useless in a fight against superman, but he always beats him because he's really really popular.
it's the same principle where action heroes can dodge bullets. being the center of the story is the real super power.
it's kind of oddly realistic in the sense that being popular is how you end up wielding political power (at least in a democracy.)
Iron Man isn't all that in the comics, but Robert Downey Jr is really charismatic, so Iron Man's the most powerful savior in the marvel universe.
