I've seen comments pointing out #NetNeutrality concerns reg Facebook's investment in Reliance Jio. My comments:

1. Fact is, Jio and Fb were on the same side, with slightly different approaches, in 2015. This deal doesn't change their alignment re #NetNeutrality .

2. I don't think we have a problem as long as @TRAI 's #NetNeutrality regulations stay in place + @rsprasad and @narendramodi continue to support NN.

3. Real concern here is around vertical integration, which is something that competition commission needs to look into. (2/3)

4. Jio is much more powerful than in 2015. FB remains same. The government isn't as open to public opinion on issues like privacy, encryption etc anymore. Civil society is much weaker than in 2015.

We will have to be watchful.
