do y'all ever think about how there are fanfic writers out there with more talent and creativity than published writers and there's still some unspoken rule that fanwork is considered something of less value/quality regardless of the actual writing.

like it just hit me that the best writing i've ever done has been for my fanfics and my original work is (idk noise) and as someone who's been in writers circles online for a decade it's undeniable that there are incredibly gifted writers who primarily write fanwork

not that all fanfic writers are makers of masterpieces but a lot of published writers aren't either and even online fanfic writers get put to second tier over artists because of the mindset that 'anyone can write'.

i'm not writing a lot these days and idk what the point of this thread is but support your local fanfic writer. if you like their work, support it, encourage them, share it to other's etc. because they put a lot of effort into their work & deserve the encouragement & support
