During the past ~6 weeks, I've adapted my paper #journaling to fit quarantine life as well as being sick with covid. I'm glad I stuck with this habit because it has helped a ton with feeling grounded.

Here's a lil [thread] about the takeaways.
1. Hold no judgement.

Had a shit day? Jot it down. There's no shame in it. Had a great day? Jot it down to celebrate!

Being sick meant I had a few good days in between a lot of shit days. Journaling to me is a practice of being honest without defeatism or faking positivity.
2. Let it adapt to you

Some days I'm in the headspace of divergent thinking. I'll jot down scattered reflections, doodle. Other days I'm in 🤖spreadsheet-mode, that's when I analyize, prioritize. Both are valuable. On days when I was too sick, I simply wrote one line. (see #1)
3. Let it remind you what's important

It's easy to get idealistic. Ppl journal but stop b/c they got guilty abt living up to it. That misses the point.

Journaling is an assistant, not my boss. On "off" days I look at it to remind me what I'm proud of and what's important ahead.
If you also journal, I'd love to chat about how you're doing. đź’Ś

I'm thinking about hosting collective journaling sessions. 💭💬📝
