Thread: In every culture, there are those who think that men are supposed to be tough enough to cope with anything. If for any reason you couldn’t handle the stress you were ostracized by your teammates. You see that happening here with the BS macho ideals. 1
"Persons of high self-esteem are not driven to make themselves superior to others; they do not seek to prove their value by measuring themselves against a comparative standard. Their joy is being who they are, not in being better than someone else." – Nathaniel Branden 2
Thinking on your own is one of the traits of a good leader, this is as important as being able to be physically fit. More important is being able to ask critical questions and think on your own. 3
I see a lot of groupthink mentality here which question what did you learn going through all that training you strut on here? Being a good human being is not about carrying heavy loads, or pulling the trigger, its more about being mentally balanced and being compassionate. 4
most important a mentor and a coach.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit." – Aristotle 5
We need to have a balance between thinking and agreeing with the group-think mentality and partisan BS. Ask, Wait a sec bro we need to talk this over. Both are equally important. 6
Criteria used to recruit soldiers to the SOF include intelligence, being mentally robust, having analytical skills and most important good at teamwork. You couldn’t tell by some of the garbage you see here. 7
War is chaos and it places military personnel under high pressure. Our own experiences are different very hard for many of us who end up suffering from PTSD. You can't live in the past, the past won't help get ahead. 8
Some of us are truly suffering and they cope in different ways. The same way we are taught to abort a mission we need to be able to turn our switches on and off like we’ve been taught and walk away. 9
We have a system of debriefing and defusing, of squaring up and setting matters straight with one another. Think about the others who sacrificed so much. The Williams, Shuer, Rowe, Petry, Shugart, Rodelas to name a few and what they would say. 10
We see their names in hallways, conference rooms, training centers, obstacle courses. Honor them. Stop being such little men and rise up. The example you set here is what you are doing on the outside. 11
