Over the weekend, it was revealed that 71 publicly traded companies secured hundreds of millions in PPP loans and banks reshuffled apps to give priority to big customers so they can make $$ in fees. Meanwhile, #smallbiz & especially independent workers were shut out of funding.
This is why we joined @freelancersu & other media orgs in calling for CHANGE. Freelancers & minority sole proprietors deserve to apply for #PaycheckProtectionProgram loans 1st next round with earmarked funds. Lenders must process all apps. https://www.documentary.org/advocacy/coalition-letter-senators-support-self-employed-workers-impacted-covid-19">https://www.documentary.org/advocacy/...
We want transparency and loopholes closed from @SBAgov. Publish your #PaycheckProtectionProgram data on the size of the businesses receiving loans, including a breakout of loans awarded to self-employed and independent contractors.
Contact your local representative today & demand that #PaycheckProtectionProgram be re-funded, and that independent workers be put at the top of the list. Stop the exploitation by big businesses! https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials">https://www.usa.gov/elected-o...
